North Carolina 83, Syracuse 66.

 

• The National Championship game was decided with a pair of back-to-back three point shots in the last five seconds.  Watch Charles Barkley's reaction

• The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton on Dallas Street in Houston.

• The annual Welcome Dinner had 44 people in attendance -- the second largest in group history to date.  The event was held at Russo's New York Pizzeria. 

• The Hoop Historians collected $300 over the weekend for a donation to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

• Hoop Historian Bren Petar and wife Kitty were interviewed by the Houston Chronicle about the Hoop Historians.

• Field Trips were taken by the group to the NASA facility and to Minute Maid Park for an exhibition baseball game.

• Dennis Mishko Jr., Jillian Mishko, Samantha Mishko and Gordon Welch were elected as full members.

• Neil King and Mike Rossman were elected as an honorary members
