  • Two number-one seeds, Kentucky and Stanford, both fell in the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament.

  • The Hoop Historians Welcome Dinner was located at  the Texas Land and cattle Restaurant on St. Mary's Street along the San Antonio Riverwalk.

  • The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Woodfield Suites on Durango Boulevard in San Antonio.

  • Al Sack was recognized by the Hoop Historians for attending his 100th Final Four game.

  • Bruce Ziemer's midnight rendition of "The Ballad of The Alamo" was performed for several Hoop Historians and others at the site of the Alamo.

  • The USA beat the World Select Team 99-79 at the Nike Hoop Summit.  The game featured future NBA stars J.R. Smith, Rudy Gay, Al Jefferson and #1 pick Andrea Bargnani. 

  • No new members were added to the Hoop Historians membership.
