• Florida won their second consecutive championship, marking the first time a team was a repeat winner since Duke in 1992.

• The annual Welcome dinner was held at Max Lager’s American Grill and Brewery in downtown Atlanta.

• The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Baymont Inn and Suites on Piedmont Road in Atlanta.

• Photographer Rich Clarkson, who shot more than 50 Sports Illustrated covers, was the guest speaker at the Annual Business Meeting.

• John Mayberry was presented the Hoop Historians Ambassador Award for his years of contributions to the game of basketball.

• Some the membership attended MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA baseball games throughout Final Four weekend.

• Hoop Historian Frank Wilson caught a foul ball at the Georgia Tech - Maryland baseball game.

• Joe Flaherty, Ed Krawitz, Steve Krawitz, Kevin McCann, Lee Roberts and Bob Stan were elected as full members to the Hoop Historians.
