  • For the first time since 1980, no number-one seeds made it to the Final Four.

  • George Mason was the lowest seed (#11) to make the Final Four since seeded brackets started in 1979.

  • The Hoop Historians Welcome Dinner was located at  Champps Americana in the Circle Centre Mall in Indianapolis.

  • The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Hampton Inn Circle Centre on Meridian Street in downtown Indianapolis.

  • Brian Burmeister was recognized with the Hoop Historians Service Award for attending his 40th consecutive Final Four.

  • Hoop Historian Bruce Ziemer established a modern day record by purchasing 24 t-shirts, 11 baseball caps and four hooded sweatshirts.

  • Bruce Ziemer consumed a 32-ounce steak during a lunch outing at Saint Elmo's Steakhouse.

  • No new members were added to group, as the organization's membership remained at 15 individuals.
