Championship Game:  Louisville 82, Michigan 76
National Semifinals:  Louisville 72, Wichita State 68;
Michigan 61, Syracuse 56.

 

• The NCAA Division II and Division III national championship games were played on Sunday with free admission.

• Final Four champion Louisville had their title removed in 2018 by the NCAA, the first school to vacate a national basketball championship.

• The annual Welcome dinner was incorporated with the NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show at the Sidney Marcus Auditorium.

• Approximately 50 vintage baseball caps were given Away at the Annual Meeting to Hoop Historians, Fiends of the Hoop Historians and other interested parties.

• The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Embassy Suites Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park on Marietta Street in downtown Atlanta.

• Frank Wilson was recognized by the group for his many years of service and support to the game of basketball.

• Among the activities the Hoop Historians did during Final Four week included the Georgia State Capitol, the Jimmy Carter Library and The World of Coca-Cola.

• A series of concerts were held next to the Hoop Historians Headquarters in Centennial Olympic Park which included Sting and The Dave Matthews Band.

• Mike Gibbons, Dave Kintas, Joe Klebon, Joe Makowski, Martin Makowski, Larry Seitlin, Darrell Solberg and Bob Spilman were elected as full members.

• Dick Triptow was elected as an honorary member.
