National Semifinals:  Kansas 94, Marquette 61;
Syracuse 95, Texas 84.

 

• Texas made their first Final Four appearance since 1947 and was the only number-one seed to advance to New Orleans.

• The Hoop Historians Welcome Dinner was located at  the Crescent City Steakhouse on North Broad Street near the French Quarter.

• The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Embassy Suites Convention Center on Julia Street in downtown New Orleans.

•  Among the Hoop Historians activities was a trip to the National World War II Museum in the Warehouse District.

• The post-game meals were held at the Grand Buffet at the Harrah's Casino in downtown New Orleans.

• Steve Bennett, Hersh Cherson and Pat Irvine were elected to the group as a full members.
