  • The Final Four saw the first time ever that both National Semi-Finals and the National Championship game were all regular season rematches.

  • The annual Welcome dinner had 41 people in attendance.  The event was held in the American Sector Restaurant at the National World War II Museum. 

  • The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Embassy Suites Downtown on Julia Street in the heart of New Orleans.

  • Bruce Ziemer received the Hoop Historians Recognition Award for his many years and service to the game of basketball.

  • Hoop Historian John McCann, a World War II veteran, was the special guest of the World War II Museum in New Orleans.

  • The longest line at the NCAA Bracket Town was for autographs for ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews.

  • John McCann, Rick Schabowski and John Tierney were elected as full members.
