  • This year marked the first time that all four number-one seeds advanced to the Final Four.

  • The annual Welcome dinner was held at the Texas Land and Cattle Steakhouse on the San Antonio Riverwalk.

  • The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Hawthorn Inn and Suites on St. Mary's Street in downtown San Antonio.

  • Hoop Historian Fred Allman was recognized by the group with a Hoop Historians Service Award for his recent induction into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame.

  • Fellow Hoop Historian Bill Carsley was also recognized with a Hoop Historians Service Award for his induction into the DePaul University Athletic Hall of Fame.

  • Several Hoop Historians were highlighted in an article in the Daily Herald Newspaper on the day of the National Semi-Finals.

  • A black street cat named Hawthorn was adopted as the temporary mascot of the Hoop Historians.

  • Dave DeGrace, Mike Johnson, Don MacKay and Vern Vegso were elected as full members to the Hoop Historians.
