National Semifinals:  Indiana 73, Oklahoma 64;
Maryland 97, Kansas 88.

 

• This year marked the first time since 1987 that no team from the states of North Carolina or Kentucky reached the Final Four.

• The Hoop Historians Welcome Dinner was located at  the Icon Restaurant on Poplar Street in Atlanta.

• The Hoop Historians Headquarters was located at the Residence Inn on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.

• A number of members in the group visited Turner Field to see the Braves defeat the Phillies 7-2 in Opening Day action.

• The Atlanta Constitution Journal did a post-tournament piece on the Hoop Historians in their April 2, 2002 edition.

• A late night dining spot visited by the Hoop Historians was the Steak and Ale on Andrew Young International Boulevard.

• No new members were added to the group membership.
