 Meet the Hoop Historians

 

Judi Caldwell has been associated with the Hoop Historians prior to the group's inception, dating back to 1972 when she worked with Hoop Historian board members Dennis Mishko and Al Sack at Keystone Junior College in La Plume, Pennsylvania, where she was the Assistant Dean of Students for Residence Halls.  Those friendships continued after all three left Keystone and they have remained friends ever since.  In those early years, a highlight for Caldwell was traveling to Salt Lake City for the 1979 Final Four without a hotel room or game tickets.  With Dennis and Al's assistance both were secured and she was able to witness that legendary title game match-up between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.  Judi also attended the iconic upset win in 1985 by Villanova over heavily favored Georgetown.  Judi holds degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Arkansas and is an accomplished pianist and continues to teach piano.  To this day she remains a loyal and avid "Bama" fan (Roll Tide).
