Zach has been a “normal fan” of basketball since his youth.  In addition to attending four Final Fours with the Hoop Historians, Bales built a winning basketball statistics projection system for fantasy basketball.  Zach is a nationally registered paramedic with the Chicago Fire Department and has worked in the field as an Emergency Medical Technician.  Zach studied at the University of Iowa in the comprehensive curriculum of theoretical and applied statistics.
